About

Hello friends, my name is Nayaswami Suryadas. I’ve been a disciple of Paramhansa Yogananda for around 35 years, and I serve at Ananda Sacramento as a minister and lightbearer.

SuryadasI’ve always found it a blessing not only to live my guru’s teachings, but also to share them with others. My wife and I were spending a few days in nature at Ananda’s Forest Hermitage Retreat, about an hour and a half east of Sacramento, when I wrote the first post in this blog.

In that peaceful setting, I felt inspired to write an article about finding peace amid the tumult of modern life. I enjoyed writing it so much that I decided to make blogging part of my spiritual practice. As I kept writing, I began to feel these reflections might offer something of value to others walking the same path.

My hope is to share the inspiration I’ve found in living a life of meditation, service, and devotion, as taught by my guru, Paramhansa Yogananda, and his direct disciple and the founder of Ananda, Swami Kriyananda. Whether you’re new to meditation or have walked this path for many years, I hope you’ll find something here that speaks to you.

I plan to share a new post every two weeks, exploring topics drawn from the spiritual teachings of the great ones and from my own experiences on the spiritual path.

I hope you find inspiration in these humble offerings. If you’d like to begin, you’re welcome to explore the most recent posts or subscribe to receive new articles by email.

OM Shanti Shanti,

Suryadas
